Berit's Best Sites for Children - This site is a directory of safe, recommended sites geared toward children up to age 12.  The sites have been examined and evaluated by  a librarian.

FirstGov For Kids - This kids' portal "provides links to Federal kids' sites along with some of the best kids' sites from other organizations all grouped by subject."

Digital Junior High - This site from The National Children's Coalition provides  links of interest to middle and junior high school students.

Do We Really Know Dewey - A ThinkQuest site dedicated to the instruction of the Dewey Decimal System and the arrangement.

How Stuff Works - Learn how thousands of everyday items work

Kid's Castle - Presented by Smithsonian Magazine, this site was created to provide a "safe, educational, free and fun place for kids ages 8-16."
